Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Supp, answered plainly.
What is Supp?
Supp is a complete AI-powered customer support platform. Customers send messages through an embeddable chat widget, the AI classifies them into 315 intents with 92% accuracy in under 200 milliseconds, and the system either auto-resolves the issue or routes it to a human agent. Agents respond through the Supp dashboard, which includes conversation management, analytics, team management with roles, priority scoring, and data export. Supp works standalone for small teams or alongside existing tools like Zendesk and Intercom.
How much does Supp cost?
Supp charges $0.20 per classification and $0.30 per resolution with an automated action. Priority scoring is an additional $0.03 per message. There is no monthly fee, no per-seat charge, and no minimum commitment. You get $5 in free credits when you sign up, which covers about 25 classified messages.
How is Supp different from a chatbot?
Chatbots generate responses using LLMs, which means they can hallucinate (make up information). Supp uses a purpose-built classification model that identifies what the customer wants (their intent) and routes them to the right resolution. It does not generate text. This means no hallucinations, faster responses (100-200ms vs 1-3 seconds), and lower cost per interaction ($0.20-0.30 vs $0.50-2.00 for LLM chatbots).
How accurate is the classification?
Supp achieves 92% accuracy across 315 support intents out of the box, with no training or knowledge base required. The model is purpose-built for customer support, trained on synthetic data covering common support scenarios across industries. When the classifier is not confident, it routes to a human agent instead of guessing.
How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes. Add a single script tag to your website for the chat widget, or integrate via the REST API or TypeScript SDK. No knowledge base is required. No training period. The classifier works immediately on signup.
What integrations does Supp support?
Supp integrates with GitHub, Linear, Jira, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Notion, Zendesk, Intercom, HubSpot, Shopify, Email, Zapier, and Webhooks. OAuth is available for GitHub, Slack, Notion, Linear, Jira, and Intercom. Webhooks allow integration with any tool.
Does Supp work in languages other than English?
The classifier is optimized for English and performs best with English-language input. It can process messages in other languages but accuracy may be lower. We do not currently claim multilingual support.
Do I need a knowledge base?
No. Unlike most AI support tools that require a knowledge base to generate responses, Supp uses a pre-trained classification model. It understands what the customer wants without needing your documentation. You can configure auto-responses for specific intents, but the classification itself requires no training data from you.
What is the Screener?
The Screener is a lightweight widget that sits in front of Intercom. It classifies incoming messages and auto-resolves simple queries before they reach your Intercom agent inbox. This reduces your Intercom ticket volume (and cost) while keeping your existing Intercom setup for complex issues.
Is there an API?
Yes. Supp has a REST API for classification, routing, conversations, analytics, and all other features. There is also a TypeScript SDK (supp-ts) on npm and an MCP server with 43 tools for Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf.
How does pricing compare to Intercom, Zendesk, and other tools?
Supp charges $0.20-0.30 per interaction with no base fee. Intercom Fin charges $0.99 per resolution plus $29+/seat/month. Zendesk AI charges $1.50-2.00 per resolution plus $55+/agent/month. Salesforce AgentForce charges $2.00 per conversation plus $25+/user/month. Supp is typically 3-10x cheaper per interaction and has no recurring platform fee.
Can I try Supp for free?
Yes. Sign up at supp.support/signup and you get $5 in free credits immediately. No credit card required. The credits cover about 25 classified messages, enough to test the classification on real support conversations.
